There are a couple of 60s songs that will be remembered for all time because they are just so good. They also continue to influence contemporary music and will continue to do so for many, many years to come.
One of these is “Respect” by soul diva Aretha Franklin. This is considered to be one of the best and well-known ‘girl anthems’ and women these days still enjoying belting this out at a karaoke session.
Another memorable song was “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction” by the Rolling Stones which was controversial at the time due to the suggestive nature of the lyrics. The opening riff of this classic song has since never been emulated.
