First, debt consolidation companies will be the ones to sit down with you to discuss your options. They will find out how much you can afford and which ones are your priorities. After getting your authorization, they will contact your creditors one by one and offer a settlement amount, which can reduce the amount of debt you owe. They are also the ones who pay your creditors for you, so you won’t have to go and look for a bank or lender to finance your needs.
